TEACHER TRAINING / SEMINAR PLAN

Friday (29.08.2025)

– Introduction to pedagogy

  • 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM → 2 hours
    • Welcome and introduction: What is pedagogy?
    • Overview: Didactics and methodology in dance teaching

*For Festival participants only 1 hour Friday

Saturday (30.08.2025)

– Technical and didactic fundamentals

  • 10:00 – 11:00 → 1 hour
    (Foundation Steps – Basics of the 80s)
  • 11:15 – 12:15 → 1 hour
    (How do I teach Kizomba in 60 minutes? Rhythm & Isolation)
  • 12:15 – 13:15 → Break / lunch break
  • 13:30 – 14:30 → 1 hour
    (Differences between Kizomba and Semba – steps and techniques)
  • 14:45 – 15:45 → 1 hour
    (Kizomba Geometry – Synchronization and Spatial Sense)

*For Festival participants only 1 hour on Saturday

 Sunday (31.08.2025)

Structure and testing

  • 10:00 – 11:00 → 1 hour
    (Movement correction – cleaning and improving technique)
  • 11:15 – 12:15 → 1 hour
    (Musicality: Rhythm and Styles in Kizomba, Semba and Tarraxinha)
  • 12:15 – 13:30 → Break / lunch break
  • 13:30 – 14:30 → 1 hour
    (Afro Mix & Footwork: Semba Advanced and Afrohouse elements)

Sunday afternoon – mini workshops for participants

  • 14:45 – 18:00 → Examination phase (approx. 15 minutes workshop per couple)
    ➔ approx. 3 hours of practical exam, depending on the number of participants
    (for 10 pairs)
